I started this website to share interviews and news stories I’ve read or watched that I wanted other people to know about.  It’s basically a curated news blog about things I care about.   A collection of interviews with activists and journalists fighting for the truth.  The blue pill is a reference from the movie The Matrix.  It represents the choice between the illusion of reality (the blue pill) or the truth of reality (red pill).  I’m hoping some of what I post will give a better picture of the truth of what is really going on in our world of politics, food, animals, environment, women’s issues, human rights, justice, minority and indigenous peoples struggles, history and the historical context of our foreign policy.

I source from independent news organizations that don’t get funding from corporate or government sponsorship, like Democracy Now, The Real News, RT.com, Black Agenda Report as well as any others that are fighting for the truth to be told.  Mainstream media is owned by corporations so it is imperative to have an alternative source that isn’t censored and controlled.  My hope is that someone who wouldn’t normally see this information realizes that there is more going on behind the scenes than we would be lead to believe and starts to seek out these sources.

The point of “taking the red pill” isn’t to be sad about our state of affairs but to come together and gather the knowledge to make positive change in the world.

I also have another blog, http://www.sharingtheonlyone.wordpress.com, where I documented our experience building a wooden yurt on Vashon Island, WA.

Thanks so much for visiting! 🙂
